Beloved Performer The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Dies at 60 Years Old.
US performer Finn, who featured in popular TV shows including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles, California this Monday following cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a party host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several well-known programs, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils over the years and it would be difficult to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
