Los Blancos' Alexander-Arnold Might Return to Face His Former Club in Forthcoming Champions League Match
The Spanish giants brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold on a six-year agreement
Trent Alexander-Arnold's recovery is progressing according to plan, giving a chance that the Real Madrid defender could recover in time to confront his former team Liverpool in November's European tie.
The 27-year-old international experienced a hamstring injury during a match against Ligue 1 side Marseille in the initial phase of the competition on 16 September.
Alexander-Arnold had to leave the field in the early stages, with early reports pointing to a possible layoff of around six weeks.
Real Madrid are scheduled to visit Liverpool on November 4 for the Champions League match—just over a month after the incident took place.
Insiders close to the player's condition indicate that the defender's recovery is advancing positively, and there is optimism that Alexander-Arnold may achieve his first return to Liverpool's stadium after moving to Real Madrid in June.
A devoted Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold earlier said that leaving the team he joined as a young academy talent was the "toughest choice he's ever taken."
During his time with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold made over 350 appearances, helping secure two English top-flight titles, a European Cup, and the domestic cup.
Since moving to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has appeared on five occasions across all competitions, accumulating 156 minutes of playing time.
