Starting with the one-by-one reveal of newcomers before the title's release, to trainers developing strong views on the entire lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to anticipate.

Given many of the Mega Evolutions showcasing unique designs that highlight their traits, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to link this with astrology? The following is based on a mix of vibes, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.

Aries – Mega Camerupt

Honestly, Houndoom was nearly selected for Aries, as they are the Super Form and astrological sign that evoke the most fear. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as constantly furious, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, renowned for being fun, cheerful, and spontaneous. The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Maiden is ideally represented in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual digestive issues. The zodiac symbol famous for being charmingly critical is clearly reflected across this Pokémon’s entire evolutionary chain, from a perpetually surprised face like a Virgo when you tell them you don’t have a 401(k), to its upside-down visage that’s similar to the emoji a Virgo sends to the group chat when all says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than making a strategy.

Libra – Super Audino

Look at this sweet, sensitive creature, who employs the sensors on its auditory organs to tell how others are feeling by their heartbeat. Consistently compassionate – sometimes to a fault – and trying to maintain the peace, there are many Libras who would probably benefit from Mega Audino’s skills. However, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to worry more about others.

The Scorpion – Mega Banette

This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a surprisingly sad origin: Discarded as a doll, it became sentient through sheer resentment and vowed revenge on its former owner. According to the official info, Mega Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That sounds exactly like many discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpio friends. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the ideal match with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha

Each Super Hawlucha and Archers are constantly staging a show. As a Archer myself, the number of occasions I’ve called myself some variation of a “silly little entertainer” is countless. The showiest and most attention-seeking Super Form, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “flexes to display its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius match I can think of.

Capricorn – Mega Absol
